EDUCATION PROJECTS

PIONEER MIDDLE SCHOOL

Phasing was an important consideration during the modernization of Pioneer Middle School. A 6,885 s.f. addition was added to the existing 107,500 s.f. middle school. Forte Architects worked closely with the school district in order to address the school's need while proceeding with construction. A portion of the work was done over the summer. For work done while school was in session, a phasing plan was implemented. While a classroom wing was under construction, its classes were relocated to on-site portable structures.

The existing roof was replaced and seismic upgrades were required. Classrooms were reconfigured and new cabinetry, floor coverings, windows, and lockers were provided throughout.
