EDUCATION PROJECTS

SUNNYSLOPE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Forte Architects worked with the district throughout the design or a 19,673 s.f. addition for Sunnyslope Elementary School. The addition included a new gymnasium and office complex. A new classroom wing was also constructed. The existing 22,711 s.f. building, completed in 1959, was also modernized. A new roof overbuild and seismic upgrades were required. An existing wing, previously used as classroom space, was reconfigured into a library, music room, and small classrooms. A new HVAC system, new plumbing fixtures, new electrical service and fixtures, and utility work were installed.

The site was redesigned in order to provide the maximum number of drop-off and pick-up lanes, in addition to insuring the safety and security of the students.
