ON THE BOARDS PROJECTS

WESTSIDE HIGH SCHOOL

Rising enrollment at WestSide High School means that the facility needs more space, as well as an aesthetic upgrade. The Wenatchee School District plans to move the school from its current location to the Eagles Building, which was previously occupied by the Wenatchee Valley College Music & Arts Department. Frote's challenge is to turn this rundown fraternal lodge into a comfortable 300 student alternative school. The interior of the building will be reconfigured to include classrooms, offices, an art room, a learning center, a Family & Consumer Science room and a new commons. A small daycare and gymnasium will be housed in other buildings on the site. The plan must allow for the school's future expansion needs.
