The Stadium Complex Phase I project for Cle Elum-Roslyn School District included a complete replacement of the existing track and football field. The project was completed during the summer of 2012 between the last track meet and the first football game. The existing asphalt track was ground up, graded, and compacted to create the subsurface for the new track. Crowning of the football field ensures proper drainage to the new trench drain system installed at the interior perimeter of the track. A series of swales, catch basins, and piping were also installed to transfer the stormwater to a new retention and infiltration pond. A large forested area and select individual trees were cleared to prevent future root damage to the new facility and will be developed in the future to serve as a practice field. Other features included the phase of the Stadium Complex Renovation include relocating the field events to the outside of the track to increase safety during track meets, reconfigured visitor seating area, underground utilities to future concession stand location, upgraded field lighting, scoreboard installation and a new irrigation system.
