Forte Architects provided design through construction administration services for the Wanity Park Apartments project. This development, located on 14.9 acres, consists of 24 duplex and triplex buildings, a community building, and associated on- and off-site improvements. This project is funded through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and NAHASDA Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act.


54 units were housed in the existing duplex and triplex buildings. These existing apartments were demolished and new apartments constructed over the existing foundations. All of the new structures meet ADA accessibility standards. Because the apartments were occupied when construction began, the project was constructed in phases. Forte Architects worked closely with the contractor to ensure that the disruption to the residents was minimal.

The existing Community Center was also demolished and rebuilt over the existing foundations. An interior courtyard was enclosed with a translucent skylight to provide additional space and to facilitate community events. The Community Center is an important gathering point for the project, as lunch is served daily both for residents and others from the surrounding area.
